The Health and Safety and Nuclear (Fees) (Amendment) and Gas Safety (Miscellaneous Amendment) Regulations 2024

The Pressure Equipment (Safety) (Amendment) Regulations 2024

These Regulations amend existing secondary legislation to enable pressure equipment manufacturers choosing conformity assessment of their products by UK Approved Bodies using UKCA conformity assessment procedures to take account of certification of permanent joining (welding) personnel, non-destructive personnel, material appraisal, and material manufacturers’ quality assurance systems completed by competent bodies based in the European Economic Area (EEA) as well as based in the UK. The Building (Registered Building Control Approvers etc.) (England) Regulations 2024

These Regulations consolidate and replace the Building (Approved Inspectors etc.) Regulations 2010 (AI Regulations), following amendments made to the Building Act 1984 (the 1984 Act) by the Building Safety Act 2022 (the 2022 Act). This instrument is part of the overall reforms to the building control profession to improve standards and ensure uniformity in professional conduct and competence for all building control professionals. The Building (Registered Building Control Approvers etc.) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2024

These Regulations correct errors in the Building (Registered Building Control Approvers etc.) (England) Regulations 2024 (the RBCA regulations) to ensure those regulations work as intended. The RBCA regulations were introduced to consolidate and replace the Building (Approved Inspectors etc.) Regulations 2010 and implement the changes introduced through the Building Safety Act 2022 and the practical operation of the new Registered Building Control Approver (RBCA) regime. The Building (Restricted Activities and Functions) (England) Regulations 2023

These Regulations prescribe in building regulations those functions which are only exercisable through, or with advice of, registered building inspectors, as well as those activities which may only be carried out through a registered building inspector. The Cosmetic Products (Restriction of Chemical Substances) Regulations 2024

These Regulations regulate the use of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) in cosmetic products in line with the uses to be safe for human health following scientific assessment. It does this by amending the retained EU legislation, Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (the Cosmetics Regulations). The Biocidal Products (Health and Safety) (Amendment and Transitional Provision etc.) Regulations 2024

These Regulations update some of the data requirements in Annexes II and III of Great Britain Biocidal Products Regulation (GB BPR) to reflect scientific and technical progress since the regulation came into force in 2012. These Annexes specify the data which must be provided when applying for the approval of active substances or the authorisation of biocidal products. The instrument also introduces a requirement to test for specific toxicological effects for which no reliable tests previously existed, alongside other technical updates.
